Finding Balance.

Would you balance here or there? Would you balance anywhere? YES!!! We will balance here or there! We will balance anywhere! Bring something from home or borrow something at the time of, but be ready to dance and balance in all the ways. Some suggested balance items are swords, water bottles, canes, candles, or books. 

Student who brings the most unique balance item to dance with, wins a dance coffee mug!

Madusa's Way.

​An exploration of the snaky side of dance. We will use a Yoga/Dance fusion to warm-up and review basic lyrical movements including Circles, Ami's, Figure 8's, and Body Undulations. We will also look at pops and locks and see how these accents can be used with Serpentine movement to create subtle dynamics and explosive accents.

An Open Book.

​Expression in dance is essential to creating true and lasting feeling with your audience. Much of life trains us to control and hide our emotions, which shuts down our ability to recognize and accurately project what our dance is saying. This workshop will present an entirely new set of exercises and practices with roots in the Del Sarte Principals (used by such names as Ruth St. Denis, Isadora Duncan and La Meri. We will also explore the fundamentals of the face and hand expressions found in classical Indian Dance. Finally, we will end with a short group dance that let's us tell a story with feeling.
